We’re currently working on a new Litter Prevention Strategy for the Cooks River catchment. Litter has been a long-term problem in the Cooks River, although the situation is slowly improving. We’ve been looking at what should come next, to meet a new target for 50% less litter by 2025.
It’s a big collaborative effort, led by the River Canoe Club of NSW, with funding from the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA). The strategy is being developed in partnership with the Cooks River Alliance, the local councils and several community groups, who are all working together towards a healthy Cooks River.
There’s more information about the project here, including a short survey and a mailing list if you’re interested to participate.
